Dental Veneers Richmond NSW
Dental veneers are thin shells of either composite or porcelain affixed to the front of your teeth
For cosmetic chips, cracks and discolouration, porcelain or composite veneers can be an ideal treatment solution. When you visit Dentessential for your initial consultation one of our friendly dentists will assess your oral health and determine the best treatment for you.
Dental veneers can:
- Close spaces between teeth
- Restore broken, chipped, misshapen or crooked teeth
- Restore unsightly, stained or washed out fillings
- Cover permanently stained or discoloured teeth
- Straighten your smile—this is known as “instant orthodontics” because it gives your teeth the appearance of being straighter.
A composite veneer is a combination of glass particles and plastic. This type of veneer can be finished in one appointment, and involves bonding the filling material to the front of your tooth. Unlike porcelain veneers, composite veneers are prone to staining and have a shorter life. However, they are easily replaced.
Porcelain veneer treatment takes two appointments. The first appointment is when some minor reshaping of your tooth’s surface will be carried out. This is followed by impressions of your teeth, which is then sent to a dental technician who will make your porcelain veneers. While you wait for your more permanent veneers, temporary veneers will be placed on your teeth.
Your second appointment will be a week later to remove the temporary veneers and bond the permanent veneers into place.
Alternatively, you can have your porcelain veneers in just one appointment, thanks to the CEREC technology. This technology enables us to take scans of your teeth and fabricate the veneers in-practice.
The advantage of using the CEREC machine for this treatment is that you don’t need temporary veneers placed: and it’s all done in one appointment.
Dental veneers from Dentessential
When you visit Dentessential for your initial consultation, we will assess your oral health and determine the best treatment for you.
With dental veneers, it is important to consider the colour of your teeth as veneers are colour matched to your natural tooth colour. It is also important to keep in mind that porcelain veneers do not react to teeth whitening treatment so if you do wish to whiten your teeth we recommend having this treatment prior to dental veneer treatment.
