Traditional Orthodontics

When it comes to straightening teeth, especially if you are in need of more complex orthodontic work, the tried and tested method of metal brackets and wires is one of the most effective.

Brackets are bonded to your teeth and the wires are then attached to the brackets to slowly move your teeth into the desired position. Depending on the condition of your teeth this treatment can take between 12 and 36 months.

However, when you visit the Dentessential team we can assess your oral health and determine the best course of action for you.

Cosmetic orthodontics

There are two types of cosmetic orthodontics. The first type is a discreet alternative to traditional metal braces; ceramic braces. Based on the same principles as traditional metal orthodontics, the main difference is that is the brackets and wires are porcelain, making them harder to see.

The second type of cosmetic orthodontic treatment is an orthodontic treatment which produces only cosmetic results. That is, these types of treatments only straighten the teeth visible when you smile.
