Inlays and Onlays

Restore damaged teeth in just one appointment with inlays and onlays

Inlays and onlays are used when your tooth requires more than a filling but less than a dental crown. Inlays and onlays are strong, durable and custom-made restorations to match the colour of your natural teeth. Inlays are ideal for smaller restorations, usually as a stronger version of a filling between the cusps of teeth. Onlays are used to cover more cusps.

Reasons you might require an inlay or onlay are:

  1. The tooth has minimal tooth structure remaining
  2. The tooth has fractures
  3. The tooth is used heavily for chewing

How inlays and onlays are fabricated in one dental appointment

Typically this treatment would have taken two appointments and required you to wear temporary restorations while you waited for a dental laboratory to fabricate your more permanent restorations. Now, Dentessential uses the CEREC machine. This machine allows us to take scans of your teeth and fabricate your desired restoration in an hour.
